And now on to Three More Fun Gadgets From Toy Fair 2019!

Build the building of your dreams with Arckit.

Here's the back story from Damien Murtagh, an architect and the founder of Arckit. I met him at Toy Fair where he was manning the booth himself. Damien knows the value of a physical model to explore ideas and present designs to clients. But he said traditional ‘cut and glue’ models are time consuming and expensive. Do his 'light bulb moment' came while he decided to develop a real modular building concept that would be fast and efficient. To his amazement, nothing like this existed – so he decided to invent one from scratch! It allowed him and other architects (who now buy his kits) and anybody, including kids as young as 4, to explore building designs and bring them to life quickly. No plans needed, just build with your imagination! For the more professional, the kits are based on modern building techniques and a 1.2m/4ft grid to scale. The clever ‘click and connect’ modular components make it possible to create a vast range of structures that can be quickly assembled and endlessly modified. Perfect for STEAM learning, architects, hobbyists, students and children.

Last Year SpinMaster Had The Fun Soggy Doggy. This year-

It's Baa Baa Bubbles. Baa Baa Bubbles....sometimes goes Baaa…..baaaa……BOOOM! This is one of the newest get you wet, or in this case, more like gets you 'damp' games. Here's how SpinMaster describes it: The surprise and delight just never ends with our sheep that eats just about everything! Kids take turns flipping food tokens found in the meadow. Each token includes the number of times you have to feed the Sheep. You earn tokens for every successful turn. But the Sheep is allergic to some of the food so be careful or it may go BOOM and shed its bubbly fur all over the place! The player with the most tokens at the end of the game wins! (It uses and comes with a roll-on bubble solution.) MSRP: $19.99 (USD) $24.99 (CAD) Age: 3+ Availability: Fall 2019

Baa Baa Bubbles won't be out till the fall, but SpinMaster 's PAW Patrol fire truck which is out, won “Vehicle of the Year” at Toy Fair. PAW patrol is a group of 6 rescue dogs, led by a tech-savvy boy named Ryder, on rescue adventures.

Toy Fair Is Not Only For Toys!

Here's a clever device designed by a 7 year old girl! The whole story about how she used empty toilet paper rolls to build her device is in the video you'll see on this week's show. Basically, the iCaddy is designed to hold your tablet or smartphone while you're working, playing or viewing a movie. So you never have to go looking for them, it also has a place to safely carry headphones, and headphones with a mic are included. But wait, there's more! It even has a built in 2600 mAh charger and it comes with a charging cable. It's available in many different designs and it's all packed in an attractive kit, perfect for gift giving. And it's under $25.00

Chad's Crappy Corner & His Final Gadget For His February Theme!

Chad polled our loyal Patreons and for February's Crappy Corner Theme they picked: “Cheap Garage Gadgets”. Chad final gadget of the month is the Lowe's 39 drawer organizer.

Chad found the CRAFTSMAN Bin System 39-Compartment Plastic Small Parts Organizer at Lowe's. The Lowe's website says: Made from durable PP base. 39 Transparent drawers to see the contents. Stackable or wall mountable for convenient storage. Width 14.234 Height 14.235 Depth 6.24. $27.98.

And Chad's take? Chad said it felt sturdier than the one I showed on our 'worst gadgets of 2018' show. But he thought the price was on high side. As you'll see in this week's show, you have to be careful not to tilt the unit too far forward or all the drawers can fall out. Chad liked the fact that you can stack another unit on top, but he along with lots of reviewers were really disappointed that it doesn't come with any plastic drawer dividers, especially for the price! So you can probably do better by shopping around. The one in this week's show is here on Lowe's:

Dick's Gadget Warehouse & How to Submit Your Viewer Video On Any Gadget!

This week our viewer video is about another “As Seen On TV” gadget – one that --- actually works.

Hi Dick and Chad,

This is a video for a kitchen gadget that I received for Christmas that I almost donated. I tried it and it works much better than expected!

Since you guys have tried so many crappy kitchen gadgets, I thought you would like to see one that actually works.

********************************

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.

-

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

-

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.

-

My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

-

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you'll also get an autographed 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live, I canemail an autographed to you Alfred E. Neuman photo if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it's a copy. We've tested it out and fans say they look terrific!

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Letter of the week:

From: Steve C Subject: Hotlogic

I one of those Hotlogic type devices cheap at Goodwill and it took me a while to figure out what it does but it cooks quite well. It works with frozen dinners just fine, put one into it in the morning and it will be ready by noon since the thing gets pretty hot. I wouldn't power it from an inverter in the car though unless I was driving somewhere too so it wouldn't run down the battery. Best to plug it into AC at home, work or school.

And letter number two on the same subject:

From: Douglas Ferguson Subject: Cooking on a car (engine.)

Hey Dick and Chad,

I heard your discussion about keeping food hot by putting on a car engine. Well, the Mythbusters, with guest Alton Brown cooked a whole Thanksgiving dinner on a car (engine).
