Dick Gadget Warehouse & How To Submit Your Video & Win An Autographed MAD Magazine.

Our viewer video of the week is from Mo Torres, our most frequent contributor.

I guess since Apple will be making some major announcements next week he wanted us to show his video now.

He also added that this video fits in with this month's Chad's Crappy Corner' theme of 'mimic gadgets'.

    Here's the link to Mo's video: https://youtu.be/WujcJjGafxU

Mo paid $9.99 for his, but one is no longer available. This one looks the same and was a couple of $ cheaper on 9/11/20.

It's here on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3inMa7C - As an Amazon Associate Giz Wiz Biz earns from qualifying Amazon purchases. You pay no more.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.
    -
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
    -
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.
    -
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
    -
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you'll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it's a copy. We've tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you'll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Giz Wiz Show #1795 September 3, 2020 Independent Show #276

This is our 5th year of Independent Production! (First Giz Wiz show was February 20th, 2006.) Thanks to our wonderful Patreon supporters we're now going into year 15. If it wasn't for our supporters the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. If you'd like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: www.gizwiz.tv.

Now on to the show with Buetfo The Thumbs-Up Phone Holder That Can Be Used To Hold Up Many More Things!

I bought the Butefo Thumbs Up Cell Phone Holder on Amazon and like them a lot. First, here's a bit about them from the company: Cool, cute, compact and effective! Thumbs-up OK design! Use it as phone mount at home, phone stand at the office, kitchen display, airplane device viewer. Holds devices with approximate span from 3 1/2 inch to 8 inches - 90mm to 203mm), Slot width:3/8 inch (10mm). (Weird description:) Built with Silicone Material to make it more flexible, durable, longer lasting and good toughness. Adjustable - Stand angle easily adjusted, supporting both vertical and horizontal viewing. Rubber pads and feet protect your device from scratches and sliding. $17.99.

From The Giz Wiz: I like these not so much for holding a phone, but for displaying lots of other (mostly MAD) things at Gizneyland. I have them holding up an Alfred E. Neuman CD, some MAD Halloween Cards, even a MAD car in a blister pack. (You'll see how it works with them all on this week's show.) The 8 pack seems the best buy at $17.99 as of 9/4/20 (that's $2.25 each), when you consider one vendor is selling a single ThumbsUp holder for $6.99. I received eight assorted colors in the box, with no two colors the same.

From the Giz Wiz: It is fun, and it's amazing how disorienting those glasses are. You feel sort of weird that you can't even do a simple task easy, like recap a pen. And at under $20 it's a good way to spend some family fun time.

Invoxia GPS Tracker for cars, motorcycles, boats, people & valuables too.

A bit of info from Invoxia: This clever GPS tracker connects to your smartphone with an app. The app alerts you via the smartphone if the things or people that we care about are exactly where they are supposed to be, 24/7. Simply place the device in the glove box of a car, the top case of a motorcycle, a luggage, a box, a stroller, a backpack, etc... The device can detect if an object was moved, if a person has exited a security zone, if the car was bumped or stolen. It sends the info to the app, and the smartphone alerts you in about 30 seconds! The tracker works not only on Bluetooth, but also on a low power network compatible with 4G and the upcoming 5G (using AT&T network but working with any provider). The SIM card to the low-power network is already included, as well as 2 years of subscription. MSRP: $159.00 which includes the first 2 years of service. Beyond 2 years it's $39.99 a year, (roughly $3.33 a month.)

Chad Crappy Corner & His New September Theme as voted on by our loyal Patreons.

Chad polled our loyal Patreons and for Chad's September theme they picked: Mimic Gadgets OR: “Things that look like one thing, but do another.”

Chad's first “mimic gadget” is the JTX Kitchen Timer Cooking Timer Reminder 60-Minute Mechanical Countdown Clock Time Management.

That's a long title for a tiny gadget. Here's a bit of info from the company: Fun and cute, the timer is made of plastic. It's 2.4 x 3.7 x 4 inch - perfect size for your kitchen countertop or desk. The charming mixer design add an adorable point of interest to your kitchen gadgets. Easy to use and clean: wipe with a damp cloth. $13.99 & Amazon Prime.

And Chad's take. Chad thought this was cute, and the price was reasonable. But he ntoes that it works in a strange way. If you want like 5 minutes, you can't just rotate it to the number 5. You have to rotate the device clockwise to “55” and then rotate it counterclockwise to any time you need. (We all figured you have to do that in order to wind the alarm bell that goes off at the end of the time you set. You'll see and hear it all on this week's show.) In general Chad thought this was a decent buy and a good mini-gift idea.
