Shown at top: Repillable Card. Insert: Where it fits in your wallet.Have you ever had to carry pills with you? It can be a problem as to where to put them. If you put them in your pocket they get crushed, or lost. There’s a new gadget to easily let you carry pills and it’s called The Re-Pillable Card. It’s a clever device, although I’m not so sure the name works. The company says it’s the world’s first and only wallet pill card. They also add that you can use it to carry aspirin and protect yourself from a heart attack. I’m not a doctor so I’ll just tell you more about how to use this device. It fits in your wallet without taking up any new space. Huh? How that can be? That was my reaction too, until a guy from the company showed me how to fits right into the empty air created by the bulge of credit cards in a wallet. A long tab slides down behind your credit cards and the actual storage area rests at the top of the cards. The Re-Pillable Card has two separate compartments with a little tab that opens at each end. You do need to have fingernails to snap them open. The company’s website says their product can turn your wallet into an "aspirin survival kit". And that utilizes the patent pending, "Space and Place," keeping your pills air tight and light safe, "just a wallet reach away." A larger version of the Re-Pillable Card can store larger pills and more pills. The price is reasonable. 2 for $4.99 / Mega-Size carrier: 2 for $5.99.

It talks! Just what you need at your backyard B-B-Q!

Notice the chef image on the business end of the Hot Talk Spatula.This was a “hot” item when it first came out about 12 years ago. It’s the Hot Talk B-B-Q Spatula from Wee Talk. There’s presently a company called Wee Talk that makes baby items. I don’t now if it’s the same company that produced Hot Talk. Maybe a company that makes baby products didn’t want to be known as the producer of HOT TALK. Actually the “hot talk” is very mild. Pushing a button on the handle of the Spatula brings up two voices and three sayings. The first two sayings are the gruff voice of a man who says:

“Mmmmm….smells real juicy! Now we’re cooking!

A second push & he says:

Hey, it’s getting hot on here. Flip me! Flip me!

Then there’s a sexy lady voice, which says:

Well hello honey! How about toasting your buns!

Hot Talk was a big seller for about $12.00 and it lasted two years before it disappeared from the marketplace.

Weather Direct – Direct to your desk from the Internet

This new device, The 4 Day Internet Powered Wireless Forecaster, does exactly what it says. The device provides 4-day accurate weather for over 60,000 locations. It also shows the inside and outside temperatures. You don’t have to worry about setting the time and the date because that’s done automatically. And there’s no subscription required. Set-up takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Be sure to follow the directions. It took me a bit longer because I never looked into the instruction book. I just hooked everything together and then I looked at the instructions to find things like: “don’t put the batteries in yet”, “don’t plug the unit into your WiFi yet, etc., etc. So unpack everything and then follow the Quick Start Guide. I spoke to someone at the company who told me the way to keep the price of a weather station down was to have all the weather equipment at the company’s end, and then feed the results to the various units (each unit has it’s own unique ID) across the country and Canada. Once it’s set up, you can pick a very local area as your weather location. You can get 4 day weather for Over 60,000 Locations including your hometown, parks, sports venues, golf courses and more. I picked Riverside Park from the menu because I’m located just half a block away. Temperatures are shown in °F or °C. The indoor temperature is shown constantly on the unit. The outdoor temperature is shown as part of the scrolling LCD weather bar at the bottom on the LCD screen, so you may have to wait a minute or so for it to zip by. In addition to the desk unit, you get a wireless outdoor temperature sender and an wireless interface, which is connected to your router. The company says the wireless range is up to 330 foot. I have the router in my office and I able to bring the display unit two rooms away while still getting weather data. Info also includes sunrise and sunset. If you want you can also monitor your backyard temperature from anywhere in the world with the included Weather Club Membership. There’s no software installation necessary. But you do need a high-speed Internet  service, a network router and a computer for the web-based set-up. There are about a dozen different models.  I have the WD-3103U and right after I talked about on the Daily Giz Wiz, Leo bought the same unit They even make a talk model which can speak the weather without you having to turn on the radio, TV, or computer!  The model WD-3103U is about $60.

Easier Way Yet To Set A Clock! ITalk

This is a real easy to use clock. You can check or set time and alarms using only your voice. Just say: “Hello iTalk” and then the command you want. It recognizes 8 voice commands. “What time is it?” - “Set time” - “Set alarm” - “Alarm sound” (you can choose 1 of 3 sounds after the clock demos them for you) -“What time is the alarm set to?” -“What day is it?” - “Help” (In case you can’t remember the commands – and “Snooze” (when the alarm is sounding, say “Snooze”. Alarm will sound again in 9 minutes.) I like the Snooze command best because you don’t have to even turn over to see the clock. We reviewed another talking clock the iMoshi a month or two ago, but this one has an advantage over the iMoshi. The iMoshi was very tech looking, but it was difficult to see the LCD numbers from certain angles, or in bright light. The iTalk clock has large 2” numbers on red LED with a hi/lo dimmer. This makes it a big help for the visually Impaired. It uses standard AC power (120V 60Hz 5WA) and you can back up the time with 3 “AAA” batteries (not included). Leo gets another new cell phone!

It was a reviewer’s production sample, so Leo only had he Palm Pre for a week. But while using it Leo said he loved the fact that it could handle multiple applications at the same time. That was something his iPhone couldn’t do, and Leo loves to do many things at one time. (Who else can host a show while he’s all the camera switching with his hands under his desk!) He also said he thought the Sprint Network was faster than the ATT network on his iPhone. (These comments were made prior to the new iPhone s being released.) Since I don’t have a Pre, I lifted a bit more info from the Palm website! The Pre uses the Palm Synergy feature to bring your Outlook, Google, and Facebook calendars together for one logical view of your day. And if you have the same contacts in different places, Pre can link them together, making it easy to find the information. Activity cards keep multiple applications open and lets you move easily between them - email, maps, photos, websites, whatever. The Pre thinks of your applications as activity cards, and lets you flip through them, move them around, or throw them away off screen. Things like text messages and calendar appointments appear as notifications at the bottom of the screen. You'll know what's going on without being completely interrupted.
