The Giz Wiz for the week of September 25th, 2012, Netcast 1383

In July I talked about the great new Pivothead HD recording glasses. These are glasses with a built in video camera, complete with sound, that lets you shoot HD video anywhere you look. You can shoot stills too. That Giz Wiz review is here:

Now Pivothead has released a great little WiFi drive accessory that will let you view the video from your Pivothead glasses on your iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or Android smart phone. The glasses have 8GB of internal memory, so this device will let download and then erase the video on the Pivothead glasses so you can record more. And while it’s downloading your video, it adds a bit more power back to the glasses via the internal Air Pivothead battery. Not only will it let you storage and share your content, the Air Pivothead creates a mini hotspot, so you can share your video (or still shots) with up to five other devices wirelessly. But wait there’s more! The Air Pivothead also has an SD card slot and a USB port. So you can also share pictures, video or music from an SD card or USB thumb drive. The glasses are connected to the Air Pivothead via the USB cable that comes with the glasses. There's also an Ethernet port, in case you want to use a cable hookup at your hotel. The company says the built-in Li-On battery is good for up to 3 hours of WiFi sharing as a mini-hotspot. Available now $99.
