The Giz Wiz Asks You! > What's A New Gadget You Would Most Like To See?

I'll start! I'd like to see a plug-in that would add an SD card slot to devices that don't have them. For example a tiny device that could plug into the charging port on the Zune and the iPod and the iPhone that would let you upload/download or play/record content from an SD card, or mini or micro-card SD card. That's what I'd like to see. And you?

I'd like to see an iPhone case with a periscope so we can 2-way video chat on Skype. That'll hold me over until we get a front-facing camera!

I'd like to see a device that takes RCA video in and records it to an SD card.

Forget "local" storage. I'd like a "home use" video camera with just a lens, screen, battery and wifi (802.11n) to stream what I record directly to my media server.

Hi Whammypower! Check out the SanDisk V-Mate. It's been discontinued, but it does what you want. I use mine all the time to copy TV programs & old movies to an SD card so I can watch them on my laptop when I travel. It has video in via RCA cables out from your cable box, vcr, etc. It also works in my LG ENv3 when I record content on the mini-SD card in the SD adapter.

I'd like to see a digital sketchpad using E-ink, something with a pressure sensitive digitizer (WACOM)
No touch screen either, only pen input

i'd like to see a modern day version of Eliza. Eliza was a program that I had for my Radio Shack TRS-80 computer back in the 70"s. You could ask it questions and it would respond to you. At times it even seemed real life. The intelligence was amazing. I like to have modern version of this in the form of a robot or doll (stand-alone) that would take voice inputs and respond. I have seen a few but they were not as smart as the program that was on my old 16 megabyte TRS-80 and cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

I would like to see a hearing assisted amplifier that works. It seems to me there must be a device, like a small amplifier, you could set in front of the tv or on the kitchen table and it would amplify to headphones preferably wirless headphones. The devices that Radio Shack sells amplify but unfortunately amplify everything including if move your had over your chest

I would like to see everyone who wears glasses to know about the new eyeglass repair kit screw called Snapit by eyego. It is the best screw I ever used to fix eyeglasses. I'm an optician in New York for over 34 years, and have never seen or used a better screw then the snapit .YOU MUST SEE IT. It is just a screw, but wow.

If anyone out there ever finds a DIGITAL tv band radio, please let me know. I'm not a totally wired person - internet but no tv reception other than 2 network channels over the air. So I want a tv band radio that will work with the new digital signals like the old analog one I purely loved. Especially for game shows like Jeopardy, which comes on when I really should be doing other things, you don't really need to stare at people's faces when you already know what they look like. I'm such a radiohead that my son used to walk by and say, "Hey, Mom! They make those with pictures now!"
