The Giz Wiz Asks You! > Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow?

There was a big article in the NY Times this week about companies pitching clean shaven bodies to men. I know this is the trend because I've been to two press events in the past six weeks where companies have introduced complete electric shave kits for men - designed to shave ALL areas from the neck down. So men, do you think this is a great idea and are you up for shaving your body hair? And woman, what's your take? Clean shaven bodies a turn on? Turn off? Couldn't care less?

Absolute nonsense and medically bad practice. Unlike facial hair that is there for biological display, the rest serves good functions. Tampering with it for a fashion trend equals Chinese toe-squashing for women and such... Would you cut off your toes if it was fashion to have "smooth edged feet"?

Hair is fine. No hair is fine. But stubble is ICK! So if you're going to do it, be prepared to either keep it up constantly (welcome to our world, guys), or for a ... er, hiatus.

My wife already said "No". That's enough for me. This is another sales pitch that's easy to ignore.

Well, actually, even facial hair is there for a purpose, otherwise men wouldn't have it in the overabundance we do. That said, no effin' way will I shave myself lower than my neck. I am a man and I look like one, hairy chest, back, butt, legs and all. Women interested in hairless man-boys are well advised to look elsewhere. Plenty of limp-wristed, skirt-wearin' girly-men out there, at least (and sadly) where I live.
